Sacks

Biodegradable sacks fall into two categories. Fully compostable bags made of potato starch & other organic materials & black sacks that have an additive that helps them break down quicker than traditional black sacks

Compostable Sacks

A compostable product has the ability to break down, safely and relatively quickly, by biological means, into the raw materials of nature and disappear into the environment. Once in a composting situation, this material completely biodegrades within 4-6 weeks. These products are used for green waste collections and food waste composting.
Our range of fully compostable bags are EN13432 approved & have the OK to Compost certification.

Biodegradable Plastic Sacks

Biodegradable sacks contain an additive such as cornstarch or vegetable oil that make them biodegrade in 1 year if they are placed in landfill. This different to normal plastic sacks that take up to 200 years to biodegrade. We do not currently stock them as we do not believe they are good for the environment.
